If you’re like me, it doesn’t feel like the holidays until you have some Disney holiday fun for the year! Whether that be a visit to the parks, watching a classic Disney Christmas cartoon (Santa’s Workshop from 1932 is a fave!), or filling our own home with Disney-inspired holiday decor.
Well, Disney themselves takes the holidays very seriously. The installation of holiday decor begins Halloween night! And there are 41 Cast Members who work year-round developing holiday magic, officially called Walt Disney World Holiday Services. Here are some more mind-blowing Disney holiday stats:
- Of the 29 custom created tree icons across property, Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s is the tallest, ringing in at 70 feet tall
- Each of the tree toppers can be up to 7 feet tall and can weigh more than 200 pounds
- End to end, the garland in Magic Kingdom measures nearly a mile long
- 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the iconic gingerbread house in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
- The gingerbread house is life-size, made from 10,000 gingerbread pieces, requires 400 hours of baking, and 160 hours of decorating to complete
- At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Dinosaur Gertie’s Santa hat is big enough to fit four people inside of it
