Fans of the golden age of Epcot Center have fond memories and deep rooted connections to The Land and The Living Seas pavilions. From the feeling of scoping out flying plants in the Living With the Land greenhouse to journeying to Sea Base Alpha! It's now been rumored by news outlets that these classic pavilions might be going away.

Epcot has recently started a massive overhaul. New attractions, including the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster and Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, are well into construction, a new nighttime spectacular will be replacing Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, and even a new pavilion, known as "Play," will be debuting.
With these sweeping changes across Walt's "experimental prototype community of tomorrow," the original Land and Seas pavilions might be completely torn down to make way for entirely new themed areas. Even the massive aquarium in the Living Seas. This would sidestep the popular Soarin' attraction with the creation of a separate entrance to this ride.
It's not unheard of for Disney to make sweeping pavilion changes to beloved attractions (I see you Horizons!). Time will tell what the official plans are for these classic Epcot pavilions!
UPDATE: Since the original publication of this article, it has been confirmed that The Land and Living Seas pavilions will be staying with us well into the future!
